1240-1300°C
White stoneware clay with 40% impalpable grog 0-0.2 mm (up to 80 Mesh). Formulated for artistic ceramics, it is ideal for throwing and modelling smooth pieces with fine details. The high content of grog confers an excellent behaviour during drying and firing. Its particular ivory colour after firing is much appreciated and provides an excellent ware for glazes and colouring oxides, which develop bright and intense tones. Suitable for tableware (food-safe), according to ISO 6486. Available in extruded body (moist form).
Firing range*: 1240-1300ºC / Cone 6-10
Biscuit temperature: 1000ºC / Cone 06
Water content: 19%
Plasticity (IP Atterberg): 16
Carbonate content (CaCO3): 0%
Drying shrinkage: 5.9%
Firing shrinkage 1300ºC: 7.0%
Porosity (water absorption) at 1300ºC: 0.0%
Dry bending strength: 3.0 N/mm2
Fired bending strength 1300ºC: 51.0 N/mm2
Thermal coefficient 1250ºC (25-500ºC): 60.4x10^-7ºC^-1
Available in the United States and Canada. ACMI AP Seal. Conforms to ASTM D-4236.
(*) Firing range recommended for the clay to develop its best performance, both in terms of technical and safety characteristics, under conventional firing conditions. The colour samples may show temperatures outside the recommended range to provide a broader view, but these are pieces fired under controlled conditions. Cone equivalence according to Orton table for self-supporting cones, regular-SSB and 150ºC/hr heating rate.
